I've been postponing updating this blog for a while now - it has taken us quite some time to settle into Singapore. Singapore. Home for the foreseeable future. It's great in many respects, but it has some serious drawbacks too.
Anyway, I've decided to dedicate my posts to important information on Singapore (and, occassionally, other things) that you might like to know. Here's today's gem: People here do not walk fast, contrary to some research that ranked Singaporeans number one when it came to walking pace. See http://www.economist.com/daily/chartgallery/displaystory.cfm?story_id=9177570. No no no. They're slow and unpredictable. Must be the heat. But there is an exception - shopping malls! Even more so during a sale. Like now. For those of you who know not, Singapore has a great sale on once a year. This year, it's on from 25 May to 22 July. The malls (and, really, just about everywhere) buzz with people who always looks like they're late for an event. Pretty full-on. Mrs Dhaliwal gets nauseous just looking down from the top floor, watching the almost-fluid like motion of a whole bunch of people rushing around.
Not a very uplifting post, you say? Nevermind, I'm bound to have something nice to say in the next post. Either that or I'll make something up.
